Christmas Embroidery

This pattern was free from Gail Pan Designs. I haven't done embroidery in many years and this was a fun little project to get back into it.

I finished all the blocks in the Redwork Sampler Embroidery quilt. I will have to wait till next year to finish it but at least the time consuming part is finished.

Dear Jane G-3 Four Leaf Clover

Nearly Insane Block 50 (ISH)

After over an hour of time I couldn't spare this weekend, I decided to pitch the Y seams of Block 50 and construct my own Block 50 without using Y seams. Here is my version. I guess there will be many more blocks in the book that I will have to put a twist on. I once did a whole quilt with Y seams and I swore I would never touch them again.

Nearly Insane Block 21

This one only had 25 pieces in a 6" block. I do not look forward to the ones with hundreds of pieces. Where is all that bulk going to go?

Vintage Valentine Block 9

Playing With My Embroidery Unit

I finally had a little time to play with my Embroidery unit. The pieces I really wanted to make require me to have a larger hoop, which is on order and hasn't come in yet. I decided to try to make a few blocks from a Holiday Redwork disk I bought. If I am lucky they will be ready to go December 2010. LOL!

I bought a freestanding lace design from Emblibrary.com that I also wanted to try. These are pretty quick and simple but if you wanted to make a bunch for your tree it would cost a small fortune in washaway stabilizer.

Christmas Panel

I finished the Christmas panel I started a few weeks ago. It's nice to have something finished.

I didn't quilt match up my stripes but I forgot to take my stitch length back up after paper-piecing. I hate un-sewing but I detest un-sewing with a 1.5 stitch length. LOL!

I-3 Family Album & Nearly Insane Block 34

I took advantage of a day off from work to catch up with my blocks of the week. My sewing room is completely organized and I should be able to get things done much quicker.

How did this happen?

I am in the process of cleaning out my sewing room. I didn't realize how much stuff I have bought since I started quilting 2 years ago. I seriously have enough projects to keep me going at least 2 years.

How does this happen???

Saturday Sampler

This is the final block of the Saturday Sampler that I was doing from Leah's Quilt Gallery. Unfortunately, it will be the last Saturday sampler. Leah's is closing. This quilt shop is dear to my heart. It is where I took my first quilt class. This is also the place I met the other two Amigos, Karene and Joy. There are so many ladies I have met there that I can call a friend, I cannot begin to name them.

I decided I should crop all my blocks and add a sashing to them. I didn't buy the finishing kit because I wasn't all that crazy about it.
Then I added the final border. I think it may be a bit wide, I may crop an inch or two off before I pin baste it. Tomorrow I will piece my backing, a nice mottled green flannel. I will also get my binding ready.

My Motley Crew

The killer poodles. Daisy, Max and Mindy. Be careful, they may kiss you to death.

I read quite a few quilting blogs and they all seem to contain a kitty. I may be the only quilter besides Joy that has pups. I would love a kitty but I am already responsible for my Vet owning a BMW.

C-5 Eye of the Cyclone

This was my first attempt at reverse applique. I did the center the way I normally applique and used the reverse method on the outer circles. I sure do need to practice.

C-6 Tic Tac Toe

It looks like I didn't even try on this one. I may do it over. Then again, I may not. LOL

A-10 Which Way Points West?

This block was not easy. It isn't pretty either, don't look too close. No way will I do this one again.
